Re: Acrylic Advice
Hi Tim. I cut the little plug off the end of the power supply, run the cut end through a small hole in the back wall of my base, then solder the two small wires to the LED light strip. I also tie a knot in the wire before soldering it so the wire won't pull back out of the base. I use 3/8 inch acryl...

Re: Paradise Clock
I did it using a scrap piece of white corian. Sanded it down to about 1/8 inch thick, round with a hole in the center. Turned out nice. Guess anything would work well though.

Most don't have pictures, their just the files to carve the project. If you want to see them, download, then open in either v carve or aspire.

Re: Soap carving
I simply put wood blocks on all 4 sides, clamping them down to hold the soap bar in place. No downward pressure was needed since its so soft.

Soap carving
Ok, got a little bored today and looking for something new. Saw a bar of soap, and wondered how it would work as a carving media. I'll let you be the judge, but it's pretty cool. I used Ivory because I used to carve it with my pocket knife as a kid. I used a .125 ball nose bit, but thinking I'll try...

Re: Buying cast acrylic?
I buy mine from a local supplier, thus eliminating shipping costs and times, plus it's actually cheaper to start with. But, several on this forumn, myself included at first, buy from estreetplastic.com. Good prices and shipping times. Never had a damaged piece from shipping. Check for any local supp...

Thanks. I used a 60 degree v bit for the lettering.
