Wear on the Shark

I've bought my original shark (12x24, black) in 2012. While not a production shop I have used it fair amount in the past 7 years. I noticed recently that I have some play and definite rattle on the long axis. I can grab the gantry and wiggle it back and forth and can feel and hear a loose sounding r...

Origional Shark Replacement Table

I have one of the original Sharks, 12x24. While I would like to upgrade it's not in the cards for awhile. I have been wanting to replace the original MDF table with something aluminum t-track like the new systems. Has anyone replaced their table with something like 8020 extrusions? I have limited cl...

Re: Control Panel v2.1 Build 25f Virtual Zero

Unfortunately I also clicked on the update and now my system has the 25f build version of Control Panel 2.1. I am experiencing the same problems as everyone else. Trying to find a older version of Control Panel 2.1. Anyone have a copy of build 22 out there they would be willing to share. I need virt...

Re: New mailbox post

Very nice! What kind of wood? Problem in Minnesota is that after the snow plow comes through they wouldn't be visible for about 5 months of the year ;) I'll have to figure out a way to have them 3 1/5 to 4 feet off the ground.

Re: Table Saw Inserts

Is there any reason the files are saved as crv3d formats? I have VCP 8.0 and can not open them or used them. I also have a sawstop and wanted to try out making an insert.

Re: Boot the fools off this forum...PLZ

I sent a note to Al Wolford asking the same thing. He came back asking for examples. Not sure if Al is paid to moderate or not. Don't want to get on someone's case if they are working gratis. I want this forum to continue to be Shark centric. Are there ways we can help?

Re: Using a Laptop Computer

I am using a Panasonic CF-29 Toughbook. Picked it up on Craigslist. I like it because everything is totally sealed and waterproof so I don't have to worry about dust penetration into the insides. I updated the hard drive to a SSD and am running Windows 7. I never have run into an issue with the USB ...

Re: Hi, NOOB here

There is an old adage in woodworking, spend money on boards, not tools. Crummy wood = crummy project. Make sure to check the wood for embedded dirt, stones, random metal. Nothing ruins a bit faster or is more dangerous than a bit spinning at 17,000 rpm and hitting a hidden nail. I really enjoy using...
