Re: First Acrylic Carvings

Both look great Joe. This too is also on my long list that keeps growing. I'm still learning what I can do with wood and since purchasing the Shark it's opened up a whole new world of possibilities. We really are only limited by our imagination. Every time I see an image that catches my eye I find w...

Re: Deer Mantle

Tim,

All of the models I have were purchased from VectorArt3D in V3M format. You provided me with exactly the info I needed.

Thank you very much!

Re: Deer Mantle

Thanks Roger. I do remember now the part about tiling with VCarve Pro But my dilemma still remains the same. "I can't control the size of X,Y or Z independently even if I unlock XYZ ratio." Is this something that just can't be done with these dished out carvings? Let's say I have one that's laid out...

Re: 3 for the corps

I like them. The problem is every time I see something new I want to carve it too :D

I'm always searching the web for images I can carve.

Nice Larry!
Those are the same bits I use also. I haven't carved one for display yet but I did carve one in one of the cabinet doors in my workshop.

Re: Aspire 3.0 and ramps

Sorry I don't have Aspire but you can cut ramps in VCarvePro. "If" I remember correctly you draw your line and mirror it until you get the desired width. Then cut it using the fluting path. Set the desired depth and cut the ramp over complete length.

Re: Shark is Down

Is this coincidence or what? I bought my shark and router in Feb. of this year also and it started making noise. Sure, it's covered by a warranty but I figured it's going to be too much hassle shipping the entire unit back and waiting. I also bought a another 1617EVS and am using it right now. When ...

Re: How about a Harley Sign

I like what I can see. I have a hard time viewing the full image on my small laptop screen  I would have never guessed that was pine, I like the finish. I'll have to get some sculpt nouveau to try out. Roger, sometimes I get the cuts you're referring to on the wings after I trace a bitmap depe...

Re: Deer Mantle

Thanks for the compliments. I'm still a newbie at this and I'm learning from the rest of the group here. The center section is 23" x 2-7/8" and overall it's 29-1/2" long. That's as close as I wanted to make it considering the machine will only cut a little over 24". I thought that was a good fit for...
