Re: Touch Plate!
For those afraid of using the Touch plate, I wouldn't worry. I made the mistake once of not attaching the magnetic end to the chuck, and as the bit came down it pressed down on the plate, started deflecting the table before I cancelled the routine and jogged the bit up. The aluminum plate is softer ...

Re: What's the Next Feature You Would Like?
Love to have a self-leveling table as well. Seems as though with some motorized adjuster feet for raising/lowering each corner, the same strategy used for the Touch plate could do the job. Instead of the bit lowering until it hits the Touch plate, each corner of the table could be lifted until the p...

What's the Next Feature You Would Like?
I've had my Shark since they first came out, and am impressed by the Scan Probe and now the Touch Plate that have been added to it's capabilities. Newer models came with On/Off control of any router plugged into the controller. This thread is for any other "feature" you would like your Shark to have...

Re: Machine Free Hand - No Programming?
You have 3 axis control, a way to return to 0,0,0, and a way to tell the software where 0,0,0 is. If all you need to do is plunge to a specific depth then run in a straight line then that would be easy enough. Anything more complicated should be done with g-code, and that is fairly simple to create ...

Re: Touch Plate!
Does this mean the logic is not in the plate itself, but somewhere else? Would be nice to see some sales info or video on this. -Eric The plate is simply a bar of what looks to be aluminum, with a hole drilled in one end to receive the banana jack plug from the provided cable. All that happens in u...

Re: NWA July 3 Contoller Update
Mine has an external/seperate power supply. Looks like the new ones have internalized it. With the power internal it would be trivial to add an AC-out for the router and be able to turn it on and off via software. My life is pock-marked with early adopter encounters like this though, so I'm used to ...

Re: HD Technical Problem - Losing 'Z'
The first few weeks we had a new Multicam 3000 at work we were having the same problem. Never happened to me when I'd put the bits in the holders, but happened at least once a day. Turns out that most users weren't tightening the collets enough, and the spiral up-cut bits we were using would screw/p...

Re: Touch Plate!
My Touch Plate arrived today. Had to register the serial number and wait for a code via email before the software enabled use of it though. Use the new registration code to register the software and the Touch option shows up. The plate I got had .380 on it, but measuring with my calipers it varied b...

Re: NWA July 3 Contoller Update
Actually there are 4 wires from each motor. Three seperate 4-lead connectors. I'll guess the newer one, although having more leads in the connector, only uses 4 of them as well. My Shark looks like an early prototype, which it apparently was. Works fine though. Not a production shop, but have worn o...
