Re: automatic round-overs?
Hey there, I have had this problem. when I make a rectangular pocket path, three of the corners are WAY rounded off while the fourth is the radius of the bit. when I make a simple profile of straight line channel, the machine runs down the straight line, then lifts prematurely at the end causing a r...

optimize g-code
HI, I have some reliable g-code files that I use on full round 3-d wood projects. They were made using cut3d. I had to work around the fact that my cut plain could not be one depth, but needed to change in different parts of the drawing. my files work, now I just need to make them more efficient. Cu...

custom styli for the probe
Hi, I would like to extend the length of my probe to be able to safely probe an object that is 3 inches deep. It must be able to probe all the way to the table and quite suddenly up to the top without hitting the collet. I found probe styli here: http://www.renishawdirect.com/shop/Product.aspx?Produ...

Re: CAD/CAM, 3d software, necessary?
I use Blender.
http://www.blender.org/
It's free and it works like 3dstudiomax.
Measuring tools leave something to be desired, but it has worked for what I needed it for.

Re: What's the Next Feature You Would Like?
I would like to be able to jog and reset x0y0z0 while paused. It has happened too many times that part of my program puts a little too much pressure on the router and the zero ends up being slightly different than when the cut started. My work pieces are never rectangular and so there are many secti...

Re: Router chattering during rough cuts 3D
...sorry, I'm using a 1/2 inch round bit which is why i say .15 is a minimal pass depth.

Router chattering during rough cuts 3D
Hello, Doing a lot of work with cut3d and the shark plus pro hd. Materials are soft and hardwood. I am at the stage where I am attempting to balance the feeds and speeds for optimum performance and reliability. While doing rough cuts using the x axis formula, I have gone with minimal cut depth (.15)...

Re: rounding corners
Thanks guys, I was hoping someone would say "oh yeah you left the whatzit button on" or something.
I'll get crv files and photos together this weekend.
As I said, I am not doing a lot of 2d work.
Andy

Re: rounding corners
adowty If the board you are cutting does not look like 3d preview something is wrong. The big question is what is wrong. I would like to see the photo for the first problem to get a better idea what you are doing, also were you using an EM bit ? As far as the second problem are you sure the router ...

rounding corners
Hi all, After using cut3d for several months, I recently needed to do some 2d work. in vcarve pro, I needed to cut a simple rectangular pocket. I drew my rectangle and chose a bit that was acceptable as the radius for rounded corners. I made the pocket path to start in the middle and spiral outward ...
