Re: Bosch router clamp
Hey thanks guys. I was hoping someone had jumped on this project. Someone with a CNC laser setup could make a small fortune right here just on router clamps. Thanks for nothing Nextwave. Anyway, I emailed the folks at Dixie Billet to see if they are still making them and how much. I thank you guys f...

Bosch router clamp
Sorry if this is a duplicate post. I thought I'd just posted this but I can't find it anywhere. OK, has anyone here ever attempted to make their own Bosch router clamp? I have the Shark which has the Bosch Colt and the MDF table. My router clamp has broken and at $35.00 on the Nextwave website I don...
Re: Bits
Thanks yet again, Mike. That was a great help in my decision.

Re: Bits
Thank you, Mike. Ya, I am familiar with the half bit degree sizing. But, other than finding the perfect size and degree called for in that project (if you're familiar with it) what do you think the result would be if I were to use a lesser degree angle than what they call for in their program? Let's...

Hey gang. The "Bling box" that is one of the monthly freebies from Vectric.com calls for the use of a 1/4" tapered ballnose with 7 degree pitch and a 1/16" tapered ballnose also with a 7 degree pitch. (The others called for I have already) Well, I've looked online until my eyeballs are aching. I can...

Re: Bosch Colt bearings
Thanks for that info, Rungemach. I find no movement in the shaft whatsoever so that's a good thing. After reading so much controversy about the bearings themselves, ceramic, stainless steel, this, that and all the rest, my head was spinning and in everything I did read it seemed nobody could ever ag...

Re: Bosch Colt bearings
I really don't mind opening up the router to replace the bearings. I get a satisfaction from fixing things but I do know that others would rather toss it and buy new and get on with their lives. In my initial post I was looking to see who had done it before and was it even possible. I've learned sin...

Re: Hold down alternatives
Ya, that downward pressure is an issue all in itself. As your piece loses more and more wood from the carving, it wants to warp and if it's allowed to warp while running then you can pretty much ruin your project because the "Z" 0 will no longer be constant across the board. Even thinking now about ...

Bosch Colt bearings
Well, no doubt my bearing is shot. It's not screaming yet but it's grumbling pretty well. In the booklet that comes with the router it tells us to change the bearing with every second brush change but then it says to take it to a service center to have it done. Before I tear into my router can anyon...

Re: Hold down alternatives
Bob, thanks, I have no need for the repeatability though. However, I think in my mind now I can do some sort of take-off of that idea. Milo-----I like your idea as well. Bob, while I was following your links around one of them led to me youtube and I saw this little setup. I liked it so well I thoug...
