Re: Battery powered led lights HELP! PLEASE

FIY: And for the record, LEDs don't run off of 12V or even 5V with out a resistor lowering the voltage to 1.9V - 2.4V., at 12V they will just pop after a quick flash. ;) Oh yes they do, You normally can't see them, but resistors are used to lower the voltage to something in the 2-volt range despite...

Re: cutting air

Could you have accidentally checked the "flat depth" option on the toolpath with a parameter of "0" selected?

Router bit basics

While snooping around on the internet I ran across an article in .pdf called "Router Bit Basics". Some pretty good info for all. I wish I had heard of the "Onion Skin Strategy" described therein - it would have saved me untold grief sanding out those "waterlines" on some of my projects. Find it here...

Re: Shark setups Gallery

My new shark tank. I put a dust chute on one end and then used a length of 3" PVC with a slot as an air intake (the cabinet is as airtight as I could make it). The PVC can be rotated to direct the airflow up/down as needed. The slot is currently cut so the cross section of it is equal to the cross s...

Re: Cutting board for a sink

Thanks, Bob. The one thing I wish I had added, but didn't think about until it was put into actual use, is a "finger groove" on each side to make it easier to lift from the sink. I also neglected to mention that I rounded off all the edges on the router table, but you've figured that out by now. :)

Cutting board for a sink

I didn't plan to share this one because I thought it was a one-of-a-kind, but after being bribed with crawfish etouffe (I work cheap!) to make a few more for family members I happily discovered that sinks with these dimensions are fairly common. If the sink has an inside width of 14" with the radius...

Re: The Exalted Society of Chowed Beds And Clamps

I modified the clamps slightly: Instead of using spacers under them I rounded off the bottom opposite the hold down end. I made the dado on the business end slightly less than 1/2 inch and use them for stock from 1/2 to about 3/4 inch thick. On the next rare occasion I use stock thicker than that I'...

Re: The Exalted Society of Chowed Beds And Clamps

A day or so after seeing this thread and thinking "I'll never eat up a clamp", I ate up one of the metal Rockler clamps. (Them that have, them that will.......) Soooo........ Rungemach, I stole your idea for the oak slats and your clamp design. Best, most versatile, most accurate, and easiest...

It's a good thing because the router sounded like it didn't particularly enjoy that 3.5 inch forstner bit anyway, not to mention all the smoke and fire.

Re: recessed drawer pull

Dang! All the money I wasted having 30+ forstner bits ground to fit a router collet!
