Re: Line drawing to file

If I remember correctly, you can import a JPG file into your software, but you will then have to draw all your vectors for setting up you toolpaths. If you can export your line drawing as a .dfx file from the program you used to create it, you'll have the vectors ready for you to use, to create your...

Re: Tile Toolpath

The starting point will remain in the same spot as the first one. You'll have to make sure the material moves just the amount you specified as the length of the tile, ie. 24X24 inches. The second tile will start at the same corner as the first one. Your XYZ settings will remain the same.

Re: Music Box

Thanks for the info guys. I'll need to get started on this soon for my granddaughter's birthday. My plan is to make the roll removable so different songs can be played. I'll use earth magnets to attach them so they can be easily removed.

I know I saw a link to where I can buy the polyurethane band but I can't locate it now. Can anyone point me to the link? Thanks.

Thanks for the link Bob. I liked the box so much, for $10 I subscribed to the magazine just for the plans. LOL

When you say Crashes, do you mean it raises all the way up to the end of it's travel?

Re: Power failure

If you fined this happens often, and don't want the expense of a battery backup, the only thing I can think of is to mark your XY position with an awl and if you loose power you can always reset it using the small indentation you made. If you're careful enough, you might be able to reset XY. It woul...

Re: Music Box

I don't subscribe to that magazine either, I get a few other mags, but I'll definitely go out and buy this issue. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter is hooked on the Frozen movie and she sings a couple songs from it. I'll work out the peg positions and see if I can make it work. She would love this mus...

Re: Spoil board for 25x25 using bed slots

I used oak on mine and only surfaced it twice so far. The second time I re surfaced it I took off so little the cost of using them is quite low, in my opinion.

Re: Hi, NOOB here

Welcome to the forum. You're about to have so much fun with your new machine. I have the Porter Cable 892 running on my Shark and it's done well for me. I thought I'd let you know my thoughts on what router to purchase. Have fun making stuff on your CNC and post some of the thing you make.
