Re: HAS ANYONE EVER TRIED THIS
You can run any speed you'd like as ling as you are sure the bit can take the side pressure from cutting the material. I'm pretty new to CNC so I run very conservatively, all my jobs I'm sure I cold run the bit faster and get jobs done quicker, but I worry I'll break a bit.

For the price I'd give them a try.

Re: Cut 3-d software question
Dan makes a good point. I ran a 24 min cut tonight with a 1/8 in BN bit and by the time I got to the middle of the project I was cutting about 3/8 of an in deep and the finish was very good without a roughing cut. I did create a roughing cut tap file but didn't use it. Not using it saved quite a bit...

Re: New User
Are you zeroing the x and y from the center of the cutting area or from one of the corners? I usually use the center as my starting point for most of my projects because it's easy to find center and the tool, if you set things up correctly, never runs into a clamp. That said, if you're using the cen...

If you want to design your own projects from vectors you create, then yes it would be worth the cost and necessary to create those projects. I use it in all my projects and find it very useful and a very powerful program. I can't live do what I do without it.

Re: need a litttle help
I believe that's what you should see. Basically a path the tool will follow. What is it that you are cutting? Letters or something else?

Re: Spoilboard-Plus
Nice work! I made my spoil board from oak strips and it's served me well so far. I may make a change in the future but for now I'm content with mine. I like the idea of using the nylon screws for bit safety in the event of a deeper cut than what might be expected. Mine are standard metal bolts but m...

Re: Two 6 foot long tiled jobs
Amazing work. I like the ruler. I have a 16 month old granddaughter. I should have made one by now but haven't. I better get to it since she 34 inches tall already and I'll probably need the 6 foot ruler.

Re: New Router Running Hot
Just a thought, but could it be you have the clamp too tight and the router housing is being squeezed to the point that the friction on the shaft is too much for the bearings to take? It seems strange that two routers are having the same problem.
