Baby Cradle
This is my first Baby Cradle project. I reviewed several designs and decided to do something a little different. I had a few requirements as follows: 1. Style would be a simple classic design with 3D Carved panels. (Teddy Bear, Toy Blocks & an ornate Cross) 2. Assembly would have to allow for flat s...

Re: Over Heating
Interesting! I have noticed hot stepper motors even on a cool day in Florida. I have been running the machine for over three years now even on hot days in Florida. Nothing but a fan in my shop. The good news is I haven't had any problems with the motors, controller or Dell XPS laptop I run the machi...

Simple Decorative Text (M) Project
My daughter wanted a letter M for her last name for a wall decoration. Just a simple M and not initials. We decided to decorate the face of the M with 3D Maple leaves. We designed this all in VCarve Pro. Selecting a font and then converted the text to curves. Then we used several instances of the 3D...

Re: Bob's Super Simple 4th Axis
Kayvon: I ordered the HDPE from McMaster-Carr Industrial supplies online site. I made the support arms first including milling the groves that the cross beams set into. I drilled and counter sunk the arms to accept two flat head machine screws in each arm and the ends at the cross beam are drilled a...

Re: Dust Boot Modification
Sure! I have a few and it wasn't complete when I took these pictures. The shop vac was placed in the attic above my garage shop. I added a home built muffler to the exhaust and piped it out thru the wall using a cloths dryer type thru the wall fitting. When I add added electrical circuit to my shop ...

Re: Dust Boot Modification
I made up a hose with swivel ends. I just measured the Swivel ends and they are 2 1/4. I believe the hose side is 2 1/2. I probably ordered all this stuff from Rockler or Amazon. The hose I used has a wire coil which I connected a ground wire to on both ends. I used plastic dust pipe for my dust sys...

Re: Using CNC to route edges on a board
Rando, You are right to add that caution and hint on "lead-in and lead-out". I have used this for cutting a slot in the edge with a slotting bit. I always cut some air first to test the program. I second the motion on being tricky. When cutting like this, I always use a starting point at the lower l...
