Re: Using CNC to route edges on a board
Yes we have done this. We found that form tool type bits work best as shown in the pictures. I have also used tools with the bottom guide bearing removed. You must be sure to limit the depth to less than material thickness. Form Tools.jpg I added some of these bits to the database. See help for inst...

Re: laser
Thom If I'm hearing you right the interface will no work right in my machine (control intensity of the laser. I have a "Black Doamond Series" machine which I believe is the same as HD2. If this is the case I will delay untill there is an option that works right. I guess I must have missed this. I wo...

Re: laser
Thom
I'm seriously thinking of adding the laser to my machine. But, it probably won't be in my buget till later this year.
As I understand the laser power/intensity is modulated from the spindle speed signal.
There are some other posts on this forum that discuss this.
Have a great day!

Re: laser
If you are running a Shark there is an interface for the laser http://shop.nextwaveautomation.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=160 that is available for interfacing the Piranha laser module. Check to make sure your controller is compatible with the interface. I'm away in vacation. Please excuse the lack of...

Re: New installation - why doesn't my touch plate work???
Does the touch plate registration show up in the controller software? As I recall, it must. As I said I don't have access to my machine right now. I'm getting ready to go out of town and my control computer is locked up in my gun safe. You may have to contact NWA tech. support. I know it is a pain a...

Re: New installation - why doesn't my touch plate work???
This usually means your touch plate is not registered with NWA. I don't have access to my machine right now to give you detailed instructions. The registration codes should be with the paper work that came with the touch plate.
Hope this helps!

Re: Ramp Plunge Moves - Clarification
Bill, I'm using V-Carve Pro but I'm pretty sure you have similar options in Aspire. I only us the Drill toolpath for several holes of the same size. I often drill holes of various sizes by two methods: If they are a lot bigger than the bit size I use a profile toolpath. If you select [Select advance...

Re: UK acrylic
I addressed this in my post and suggested some things to try. You need to understand how light travels through the media. Think of it like a prism.

Re: UK acrylic
I'm not sure this is a problem. I'll try not to get to technical. This is the natural of how light is traveling thru the translucent material When you cut with your tool the edge of the tool is creating a surface for the light to reflect on. With edge lighting the light is coming from the edge. In y...

Re: New installation - why doesn't my touch plate work???
Hello EDowney, I see none of the experts have respond yet. I’ll give it a shot. First off the behavior of the touchplate and virtual zero is a little different depending on the controller firmware. You may want to update it. You may also want to download the guide from the NWA website and read the i...
