The SET button
After having had my Shark for almost 5 years I suddenly discovered what the "Set" button is for. I have had a problem with setting the correct depth by jogging, when I am cutting something. Now I discovered that if I decide the cut is too shallow, I can reset the start position by adding or subtract...

No, nothing of the sort.BillK wrote:That's strange. Piece of wood jambed under Z carriage?
Even without the router mounted, it is still doing it.
I have a horrible feeling there is something wrong with the stepper motor, I guess that somehow it is only going half speed.

Re: Control Panel Issue
The 3" was just an easy way of calculating what is going on. I am trying to drill holes through 40 thick material. When the control panel tells me U have done 51 mm I have in reality only done just over 2 mm. I stopped the machine and marked the drill before raising it. The depth of the drill was ju...

Re: Control Panel Issue
Actually, the 3" was just an easy measurement worked from conversion. My board is 40mm, the cut has been upped to 51 mm, it physically only cuts 24.5mm in 9 steps as requested. With or without a board to physically cut through, there is no difference in the actual steps, it still only cuts 24.5 mm i...

Re: The Hangover Part 3
That looks absolutely fab :D I have a problem with my Z axis. It is only moving about half the distance it is supposed to do eg The control board says I have done 3 inches but in reality it has only done 1.934 inches. It doesn't matter whether there is load or not, the result is the same. The other ...

Control Panel Issue
I am trying to drill a lot of holes at a certain depth. Then I discovered something strange. The control panel show me that I am doing the depth I want but in reality the Shark is only doing about half. I have a CNC Shark Pro Plus HD with the latest free software. eg I tell it to drill 20 holes 3 in...

Re: Black Diamond gantry upgrade
I have been reading this thread with interest. Why do you want to pay all that money for a pretty plate with laser engraving, when you can go to the metal merchant, ask them to cut a checker plate to size, drill 4 holes yourself and attach it to the machine. I bought 4 ridges. All at less than 1/4 o...

Re: Milling aluminum
It may also shock you to know I saw aluminum on my table saw. 3/4" thick plate dry cuts very nice. And what is your saw blade good for after a foot or so of that 3/4" plate? Hammer and chisel will work too, but a band saw with a metal cutting blade or a plasma cutter are much better choices. Right ...
