Re: Adding tools to database
First a lesson in searching the internet. Never use the search engine of a program such as Google or Mozilla fire fox. They make their money with advertising. You will be subjected to all kinds of garbage you don't need or want. Often times this is where you pick up viruses. You can open them but do...

Re: OK. So, now what......?
Don't know where you live but I will offer the following suggestions. If you have a Rockler store near you, Ask them if they have a CNC user group. I live in the Greater Seattle area and we have two Rockler Stores and two active CNC user Groups. They meet monthly. It is a great place to meet other u...

Re: Virtual zero not working
Hi Gene, I just reviewed the CNC Shark Video of how Virtual zero works.
From what I saw you did nothing wrong. Virtual zero did not perform as advertised.
You should contact the the maker and tell them what happened.
They should be able to help you

Re: Dupont Silicone lube availability
Beware of silicone around wood you want to finish or glue up. Before I retired from Boeing we had a military contract to make some electronic modules. The specifications called for the modules to be encapsulated in A Silicone compound. Because Silicone leaves a residue on everything it contacts. We ...

Re: gcode start and stopping
Hi I have another suggestion. Go to the place you want to stop at. Insert the line of code M0, that is M Zero. That is the program stop code.

Re: Where to find discontinued bits
Be ware of discounted bits. they often are made of low grade carbide and are not accurately ground. Sharpness can also be a problem. I don;t know what the special configuration is of the bits you are asking about. If you want ball nose bits Look at WWW.cuttingtoolsource.com I have been using their b...

Re: Burning Wood!
Burning wood can be caused by number of things. Slow feed rates. If the cutter dwells too long in one place it can over heat. wood ignites at 450 Deg F. A dull bit will run with increased friction and can cause it to burn. Deep cuts with slow feeds can also cause a burn. Slow router RPM's can cause ...
