Re: Bit selection for small font wood engravving
I recommend you do not buy lot of bits until you start working. I personally don't like using router bits. I find they are made with inferior carbide. I favor two flute spiral end mills designed for steel cutting. Buy them from some one who supplies bits to regular machine shops. I buy from a compan...

Re: Its ARRIVED! And I am already confused
Your bitt RPM Seams a little slow I would recommend 20,000 RPM for a bitt that size. I have carved poplar in 3D with 1/8 ball nose and to my surprise it came out excellent. I believe it depends on the sub species of poplar. I Vcarve cedar all the time with excellent results. When Vcarving using Vcar...

Re: Feed rates- imported vectors vs. shapes created in vectr
Your Problem is probably Feed Rates. Look for The F codes in the different files. That is what controls the speed of the cut. Remember F codes are modal in that they stay in effect until changed by another F code. when you moved it out 0.001 Vectric would recalculate the file to what ever feed rate ...

Re: Feed Rates with writing our own G code.
The above answer is correct. You need a good book on Gcodes. Then you would have realized your problem is the fact that G00 is a Modal code. That means that once entered is stays in effect on all following lines of code until changed. The only code that will change it is G1 or more properly G01. Dan...

Re: Edge Profiles
Post drawing of what you want to do.
Include a cross section of the area you want to carve.
some times you have to multiple passes with multiple bits. Please include some approximate dimensions.
I will try to help you.

Re: Adding tools to database
The process for adding bit profiles for both Aspire and Vcarve pro are the same. I have had no problems adding bit profiles but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I will admit the the process is very fussy about the proper steps in the proper sequence. I suggest you go back and review Step 9 again....

I have not had any problems creating new bit profiles.
The program is fussy about the steps and sequence of things.
I suggest you review step 9 again.
Please let me know how it comes out.
