Re: Won't cut at constant speed
zoom in on the line. is there an excessive # of nodes making up the line. The router may be trying to move from point to point like it is suppose to. A straight line for instance should be 2 nodes. This happens a LOT when you import dxf files in which it is actually comprised of thousands of spines ...

cowboy praying at the cross for a sign
I don’t normally work in the ‘positive’ but this is a custom request that will be incorporated into a ‘cowboy church’ sign. 11" long in Alder wood. the lettering will be done as a separate cutout. this will be used as the original to make a silicone mold to cast more in a tinted resin for outside si...

Re: Expected Life for the CNC Shark HD4
Keep things lubricated and you'll be ok.
I think you can expect to go thru more routers than shark parts.
1st Porter Cable router lasted less than 100 hours of use.
on my 3rd.

Re: Belt Buckle
Looks great. what does the back look like. Did you use a metal buckle back or stud of some sort to go into the belt holes?

Re: Digital Duplicator
Has anyone tried the duplicator? Is it worth the $$$$? How accurate is it? Formally called a probe. It is slow going becuase to get a good starting model you have to set the increment to pretty small steps. And the result is 'in the ball-park' of what you want and you'll still have to do some smoot...

Re: How to get AutoDesk Inventor to work with Vcarve pro?
So does Fusion 360 make the Gcode for the shark? AutoDesk Inventor is just used for doing 3D modeling and then you have to upload the file to another program like master cam to write the code. But what I want to try is make the 3D model on Inventor and then upload it to Vcarve which is my software ...

Re: firefighter companion piece in brass
Cool stuff Nick. It's always hard to tell in pictures, but the carving in brass "goes in" to make the leather raised? What feeds and speeds do you use with the brass and what grade is the brass? Any lube during cutting? Thanks! thank you. you are correct it is in relief so that the embossing is up....

firefighter companion piece in brass
this is a companion piece to the firefighter I put up last month with the resulting embossing. 3" piece of brass for a wallet back plate.
I cut this out on the shark. Don't worry, those tool marks are 0.15" below the surface and won't show up as you can see.
