Re: Huanyang Inverter used with Shark 2 HP Spindle
For the VFD, a truly "OFF" condition requires disconnection from the incoming 120/240 VAC source. When the VFD is connected to power, the only ON and OFF states are the Run and Stop conditions. So, it's normal that the Shark control box can't truly turn off the VFD; that's the job of a "contactor", ...

Re: WTB 3D Digital Duplicator for CNC Shark
There are MUCH better ones available on eBay these days. From the shark's perspective, it's just a normally-closed switch attached to the touch-off plate circuit, so wiring would be pretty easy. Here's an eBay search: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313&_nkw=cnc+pro...

Re: Can I run Linux?
sadly, the USB interface won't be "real-time enough" for the CNC controlling software to work properly. Vectric probably will work just fine, however.

Re: New to CNC--Program Question
There appears to be an option to purchase the pendant. As of 29Sept, the NWA web site says they'll give you a free pendant with the order, for an effective $250 discount. I see that when I click the link Kayvon provided. So, balance the cost of the new computer/laptop against that, as the pendant mi...

Kayvon:
It's not a new idea at all; I've been making and selling these kits since 2016. NWA seems to refuse to acknowledge they have this problem. Many of my customers had multiple ruined jobs, and blown-out controller boxes, but zero problems after they installed the kit.

Upgraded Static Mitigation Kits from ThomR.com
Yes, after six years of producing these, there's a major change due to the features added by NWA on their 5x0 series. There is now a "Run / Probe" switch, since some had mentioned the z-axis probe didn't always properly find the height with the kit installed. In the Probe switch position, the two ha...

Re: Missing Random Letters when using Laser
Kayvon will check out the files. It's just the CRV file, however. It would be helpful if you could add the .tap file into the Zip file and upload again. Sometimes these things are down to a problem with the post-processing. I looked at the CRV file and it looks like all the vectors are selected for ...

That's a great photo, Rando. Very impressive what you've managed with the Shark. Next Wave ought to include your results in their promotional materials! Thanks, Kayvon! You're too kind :) In some sense, they have. While the HD2+/3 generation was their lead model, they featured a bunch of my aluminu...

Re: Headscratcher for me?
Hey Folks, First post here and needed to get onboard as a means to try and hunt down an issue that is puzzling me. <snip>..... - Was surprised and shocked when the SD110, with the brand-new spindle started galling the aluminum and this started to really impact the machine. Started to hog in and suc...

Re: Ready2control software ?
WBill: R2C, is essentially optional. You can get the full machine functionality by transferring toolpaths (.tap files) onto a USB flash drive, then plugging that into the pendant. Some prefer a computer user interface, others feel perfectly fine using only the pendant. Some use both. However, there ...
