Virtual Zero Between Tool Paths
When using different tool paths, how do you set the virtual zero when the depth of the wood changes depending on past cuts. My first tool path is a 3d roughing tool path which will remove up to .25" of material in some spots, mostly in the center of the work piece. When I run the 3d finishing tool pa...

Re: Tool Path Stops Without Cutting
Embarrassed beyond all get out, but I "think" I figured out what I did wrong. It is the first job I setup using Aspire and I saved the file as a CNCShark-Laser (inch) (*.tap), when I should have saved it as a CNCShark-USB 3D Contour (inch) (*.tap). I just saw the (inch)(*.tap) and selected that form...

Tool Path Stops Without Cutting
I am attempting to run a roughing tool path using a shark CNC. I load the attached file, zero out the work space and click to run the job. The bit spins up for a second or less and the job stops without making a cut. The computer or machine do not show any type of error message. I have tried power c...

Double Sided Sticky Tape Sheets
I have a few questions for those of you who use double sided sticky tape.
1. What brand do you use?
2. Where do you purchase it?
3. Have you ever had problems using this method on stock that is 1/8 thick?
Thank you.

This is the first automata that I have made, I call it "Cookies for Santa: Santa goes up and down the chimney trying to figure out who is stealing his cookies. The snowman is the culprit, we see him drinking the milk and moving the plate to get yet another cookie. Here is view of the front of it. cf...

Re: Drilling tool path goes crazy when setting virtual zero
SUCCESS Two changes were made. Per a user's suggestion on the Vectric forum I went into Preferences, Virtual, and then clicked Clear Readings. I also applied the latest software updates and firmware to the Shark CNC. When trouble shooting, I know I should have just applied one of these changes at a...

Drilling tool path goes crazy when setting virtual zero
I setup a simple drilling tool path to drill six 1/4 holes in a board that is 5.5 " wide and 12" long. When I load it into my CNC Shark, it prompts me to set virtual zero, when I click okay the router attempts to run past the usable table space, which I then abort. I am running VCarve 8.5 The starti...

Walnut Antler Mounting Plaque
My neighbor gave me a piece of walnut from a tree that he cut down on his property. He’s an avid hunter, so I thought it would be nice to make an antler mounting plaque for him.
