Re: my first design
Short answer is NO!!!! You have to setup your work piece, and depending on where you set your start point you will need to align the piece and set your Z zero point to the top of yhe work piece, if that is where you originally set it when creating your project. Consider that the machine is stupid. I...

Re: Newbie issues
Did you save all the tool path's for the shark gcode before you ran your files?
If so, the only thing to do when switching bits is to zero out the Z height.
It should start cutting the other tool path correctly if you saved the tool paths for the shark.

Re: router plunging all the up during project
I guess that is the way peoples minds think! As you say, many forums are like that. They probably got it figured out with the help of the forum and then don't follow up with a thank you. I know I have probably done that a few times myself. The Vectric forum is a good example for this as well. Many a...

Re: very slow 3D carving
Try slowing down the cut speed to something like 50 ipm.
I don't even know if you can actually cut at 200 ipm with the Shark. That seems to fast.
I would think normal cut speed should be the 50-60 ipm when V- carving.

Re: HD4 Pendant
Try this: Turn off the machine! Then with the pendant in hand, put your thumb in the center of the screen and hold it down while turning on the control box. It will take you into calibration mode. Then use a pencil with a eraser end and when it prompts you to touch a corner on the screen, use the er...
Re: Nervous
The great thing about this hobby is there are thousands of video tutorials to watch on you tube, before you ever setup your machine. I constantly am watching something. The CNC manufacturer's have some really good ones to watch. Legacy CNC has some of the best ones I have seen. There are others from...

Re: Router mount on HD4
I had the same problem! Just make the tightening screws are loose and then put some sort of wedge in the mount to pry it open enough to allow the router to slide in. I used 2 wood shims and slid them together to pry the slot open till the router would slide in. I used a clamp to bring the two shims ...

Re: HD 4 clearance pass lines... HELP
Rando is correct. Try slowing down your feed rate. If you go to fast, the head on the HD4 will bounce up and down and cause those marks. There is far too much flex in the design of the HD4 router mount in my opinion. I had the same problems with mine. I was never able to cut faster than 50-60 ipm. A...
