Re: Attaching spoil board question

Thanks. It seems so simple now that you showed me what to do. Now all I have to figure out is how to display my leveling bit in the tool index of Vcarve. I normally just copy the info from a similar tool into my data base, but I cannot find a similar tool in the examples on the Vcarve tool index. C...

Re: Newbie looking at an HD4

Technical writing for the end user is not an easy task. Here is a copy of the machine owners manual for the CarveWright system, my first into to cnc. http://www.carvewright.com/assets/service/Manuals/CarveWright_manual_C_SN.pdf It has way more detail than what we have with the Shark. IMO I would thi...

Re: Newbie looking at an HD4

SteveM got it right. Engineers do not know how to explain things to ordinary people. They put almost enough information into the book to get you interested, but only engineers can make it work.... I'll take issue with that! I'm a hardware/software/chip design engineer with over 38 years of experien...

Re: Newbie looking at an HD4

Tech support, customer service and product documentation issues are not uncommon for a lot places I believe. Especially the documentation/owners manuals. Most are not written for the "I've never done that before" people. Anyone remember their first computer and the book that came with it? Now it is ...

Re: Setting up the Shark HD4 for someone else.

Steve, I do the same thing with putting the tap file on a flash drive to be loaded to my machine. I have disabled the screen saver and sleep mode on all of my computers. I find them to be a PIA to begin with. I will make note about the win10 issues and do some reading up on it. I've read the pendant...

Re: Setting up the Shark HD4 for someone else.

The computer he is getting will be more for design purposes than it will be for running the HD4 plus it will also free up the office computer. I think his plan is to get a lap top so that it is easier to store away from the dust. Do you know if you can have both, computer and pendant, up and going a...

Re: Setting up the Shark HD4 for someone else.

SteveM, Thanks for the input on the spindle and the need for the cooling system to be hooked up for any use. I did enjoy the nice quite humming sound when I fired it up. I did see in the instruction that it should not be connected to the control box plus comments on the nextwave forum. The spindle d...

Setting up the Shark HD4 for someone else.

I got signed up here to hopefully get some help and guidance for setting up the Shark HD4 for a local associate of mine who is in the business of making and commercially selling cremation urns. He has gone from farming out box front carving at a local cnc shop, then buying a CarveWright to do in hou...
