It isn't difficult to create a carving file that takes several hours to complete. What is the best way to pause a CNC Shark HD 4 w/pendant so that it will restart at the proper place in the file and use the proper Zero Point data?
Thanks

Re: Where are my files?
Have been seriously considering connecting a dedicated computer to the CNC, but file transfer remains problematic since the wifi in the shop is terrible. I could hard wire it, but I think I need to put a router in the attic to pull that off. Not a pleasant project with outside temps of 15°F. I do mu...

Re: Dust Collection machine
Here is a picture of the dust collection hose from the ceiling. Nothing fancy since I didn't know if it would work. I did run the machine to every extreme to see if the hose would reach, it does. One end goes in to a 4"-2 1/2' adaptor to my main dust collection machine. Plan on making some modificat...

Re: Where are my files?
Discussed the issue with Next Wave. Seems that the pendant can only read a short list of file entries on the USB stick. If there are less than about 12 entries, everything is fine, if there is more than that the directory listing gets messed up. They did suggest that an improved file reading mechani...

Re: Dust Collection machine
What I have tried so far: Since the Shop Vac route didn't work so well, I found a 12' piece of 2 1/2" flexible tubing from Rockler. Suspended it in the center from the ceiling. One end goes into the dust shoe on the CNC, the other into a 2 1/2-4" adaptor on the end of a 4" run of dust collector hose...

Dust Collection machine
Recently acquired Shark HD Extended with dust shoe. If I connect my usual shop vac to the dust shoe, it sucks so much of the brush into the hose that very little dust is collected and the vacuum sounds like the hose is plugged or nearly so. Guess my Vac sucks too much for this application. At the mo...

Where are my files?
I have a CNC Shark HD Extended with a pendant. I also have a folder (directory) with a whole bunch (29) .tap files for some personalized signs. Less than half of the files can be found when the drive is plugged into the Pendant. Where are they? If I look at the drive on the computer, they are all th...

Pockets the wrong size
Cutting out a box with tabs, holes & lock tabs. Problem is that all of the tab and lock holes are too small when machined. Instead of the lock holes being about .5" square, they are .25" square. Tab holes are also only 1/4" wide and about 1 3/4" long (should be just over 2") I added dog bones so the...

Re: Router Collet Adapters
Thom,
Thanks for the information. Muscle Chuck would be of some help on the CNC Shark. Did you have to do anything about the runout of the chuck?
