Here's a few details on the shark tank design. A few have asked for more info, plans. I think these will get you there.

Simple Shark improvements/tools
Just thought I share this here. Finally got some time to add a couple of simple things to make shark life simpler. I spend a lot of time lining my workpiece up to get its edges parallel to the machines axis'. So here's a simple thing I did today. Took a leftover piece of oak flooring and cut off the...

Re: Puppy on a stick
Me thinks that Bob has discovered a way to turn linear motion into angular rotation, mechanically, not electronically.
I can see how the Shark's precision could make that possible.
I'll have to fire up the calculator and look for those bearings I put away.

Re: Margaritaville with help from my iPad
Thanks. I've been doing photoshop and CAD packages for years but I have stopped using photoshop completely since using that app on the iPad. I've also used it to trace a picture of a friend's new house and turned that into a carving for a house warming gift.

Re: Birthday Clock
Thanks everyone! Some projects you want to do, some projects you have to do, this one was both. Just glad my Dad used screws in the case so I could take it apart and carve the side. BTW the tree below her name is a silhouette of the Joshua Tree which is the name of Kelly's favorite U2 album. Also Ro...

Re: Starting to come together
Nice Shark Tank Larry! Glad I helped inspire you and the "Shark Tank" name is catching on. The noise reduction is great, my wife doesn't even complain about it anymore!

Margaritaville with help from my iPad
This is about both the sign and the technique. I made this for my brother who just added a new bar to his downstairs and is a big Jimmy Buffet fan. Red Oak, stain and wipe on Poly. Now about the technique. When you import some pictures into V carve it's almost impossible to get a clean vector file w...

Birthday Clock
When my father retired, he took up clock making as a hobby and made one for all his friends and family. When he passed away 19 years ago, there were two of his clocks that were unfinished. He made the case and held it together with screws, no glue or nails. The screws would get hidden later by moldi...

Re: Anniversary Plaque
Tony, The putty's intended use is to fill nail holes after final finish is applied. It stays soft which is OK for shallow depressions. The best part is that any excess wipes very cleanly off the face with just a paper towel. The upper part really doesn't need it, stands out well with room light. The...

Anniversary Plaque
So we're Mets fans, what can I say?
This is the 50th anniversary logo, carved in Red Oak. The finish is just two coats of Tung Oil.
New Technique for me: filled the letters on the bottom with MinWax Red Mahogangy putty. Really made them standout.
