Set up and leveling Shark Pro HD
The Shark Pro HD like any other tool in your shop must be set up to work at its best. With that said, I will try to lay out what I have learned. I am sure some of this will apply to some of the older models as well as the new Mako. The pics that I have attached may not follow the text as close as th...

Re: Bit goes down through the table
Michou Lets start with the simple stuf YOU DID zerro X,Y,Z after you moved the bit to the zerro position. I don't want to say how many times I failed to do that step. You are using the correcrt post processor file when you creat the tap file in Vcarve If you set Z to 0 severial inches above your tab...

Re: speeds & feeds / excessive flexing
MacMarty15221 How sure are you that the bit is sharp if you put it in a plane old router and just try to do a cut slot does it cut clean or does it also chatter. I did look at your tap file and the feed is way down I usualy set it to 50 and if I feel it is a bit to much youse the FRO to slow it down...

Re: Table leveling
To all This hole issue of leveling and "proper" setup has cause many a user to have problems and also I am sure some user to turn away from the shark. I have a shark pro hd and have spent the time to reinfource and level the top. I have seen some very good idea on what and how to do this. Now the qu...

Re: why get a CNC shark
Brittell I did not want to watch all the tutorials same as jeb2cav but found myself watching them over and over until it sunk in to my old thick head. I now feel I can do a lot with the Shark and the software. The other thing that sold me was you can get help here and also the Vectric fourm site. I ...

Re: Brand New ProPlusHD TABLE NOT FLAT!!!
mdcavanaugh The part that took me the longest to realise is the bottom of the shark must be on a VERY flat level base , it must be supported under the Y base rails in the center or it will cause the gantry to "sag" . I had to add shim's under the Y base rails in the center to stop the gantry from sa...

Re: Y-Axis not square with X-Axis.
Chadweberg I am not sure if I understand you correctley, But If you are square in your work piece to the top I would not do that. Attached is one way that I use. To set the boards up I use a dowel in the router rather than a bit. Jog the router to one end of the Y movement. and set the board to just...
