Thank you for your thoughts. I will cut air and have a coffee. I think I may have too big a project for this CNC.

The router failed, so I replaced the brushes and bearings. Now I'm about 3/4 the way thru an 8 hour carving. Can I restart the carving some place close to where it left off or do I need to start at the beginning?

Attached is a picture of the "whoops" . Notice roughly 1/3 from the top, the carving started in the correct spot, then a catch/snag (x - axis) and "whoops". It start correctly so I disappeared to play my bagpipes. Each section takes 6 hours to complete. It was to be one piece, but now I have options...

The machine has done roughly 40 carvings at an average of 6 hours each. I'm finding that a catch/snag in travel throws off the positioning. So, it must be time to replace something. I have the Shark Pro Plus (?) - longer bed. What would you recommend to get the CNC back running reliably?

Well, I took the air hose to the shark and tried it again. It did not get stuck, so, I tried again from 0,0,0 and the router stopped at the same spot as before. I'm making a spoiler board with t-nuts on a 24 x 24 mdf board. When the machine gets to hole #11 on the first column it gets jammed, makes some noise/vibration and carries on. Not sure I understand. For the second piece, I set the bit on the starting point and zero all 3 axis's and run the program. I can tell immediately that it's going to deep. Looking for oil?

I've had this happen on two occasions now. Carve a beautiful 3d image rough and finish (VCarve Pro V9) the first time and the next the rough cut is too deep. Time wasted - 4 hours. Any suggestions as to the cause?

Something to try. Antivirus software may prevent foreign software (non-MS) from running. The software could be from Norton, some other brand and even the operating system.
