Re: 3D Project design problem
Well, I tried using the Style C of the pattern, couldn't do it and have it turn out right. Then I went back to Style A again and started all over with the pattern. For the life of me I don't know what I did differently but it turned out like it should have been. I thought I made all the same decisio...

Re: 3D Project design problem
Roughing tool is 1/4" end mill and finishing is 1/4" round nose. I have attempted to change the size of the material when in Cut3d but it always generates a "spill over" of roughing toolpath where the edge of the rings touch the edge of the material. Thought just occurred to me to try to use the Sty...

3D Project design problem
I don't know if it is just too late at night or what but I am floundering on this project. I'm early on in designing this project but something is happening that I can't figure out just yet. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I think I know what I am doing but have a glitch. Attached are ...

Whiteside SC50 Engraving Liner for Lettering
I have used a 60' x .250 dia v cutter to do some small delicate engraving in wood but with a slight amount of thickness variation of the wood or flatness error on the bed it can get quite shallow reasonably easy. I have bought a Whiteside SC50 "Carving liner" with the intention of cutting the same t...

Re: QUESTION about BITS
I affirm most all of the recommendations made so far. I am a dedicated Rockler customer and was a little disappointed that there were virtually no bits that I wanted when I got started buying. Have had to comb the post for recommended bits and suppliers. I am a little surprised that Rockler hadn't s...

Re: Router for Shark HD
Mine was very tight. I tried to push it and didn't want to put so much pressure on the gantry so took it out and used some real fine sand paper to smooth up the inside but final solution for me was to use some Irwin quick clamps and on each side tighten the clamps back and forth till the router was ...

Re: Biting the bullet
First thought when changing bit in the middle of the carve is to turn the router off :) HA HA HA my jokes kill me sometimes. Seriously though, the method stated previously was correct. Cut all the various g-code files for one bit then change and re-zero Z with the new bit and cut the files using tha...

Re: Cutting Natural Stone
I have a sink cutout of granite that is 1 1/4" thick and would love to do something with it but really didn't think this would ever come close to doing the job. Would love to hear any results and or failures. BTW, Corian works awesomely

Re: Biting the bullet
Having bit the bullet a couple of months back maybe I can help with part of the questions. I almost stumbled onto the HD model versus the others, but even before it came I was glad I did. Along with the larger carving area (which the ProPlus pretty much has) it also has the greater height capabiliti...

Re: Sharkpro plus HD
Thought there might be a reply before now. I registered mine as a Shark Pro Plus because it was the closest thing to what the HD is. I would have thought they would have had the correct model available as part of the release of the product but I guess there is a lot to getting a new unit to market a...
