Hi BillK,
That is very nice work. Is the deer head a copyrighted pattern? That is a very nice alternative to doing a 3D carving.

Re: Newbie getting his feet wet
I think I have seen a project or heard someone mention that Cypress carves well, but can't remember for sure. Personally I have worked in finger jointed pine, solid oak, the above mentioned Brazilian Cherry or Teak, which ever it is and sand ply. Mostly doing engraving and in the case of the 1/2" sa...

Re: cnc shark pro plus HD
Hi Bill, First off, I am almost as new as you are, so weigh my answers with that in mind. I just order my Shark HD a few days before Thanksgiving and received it a couple of days after. Just before I ordered it (and ever since) I have been studying it and how to program it. It is quick to pick up on...

Re: Novel discovery for jogging
The cabled version of the USB keypad is the one I was using. I also noted a similar thing when I held down a key to move. It seemed like it kept moving after I let off. I hit the key in the opposite direction and it stopped, but like Joe says, be familiar with what you have. And yes it does give ful...

Re: VectorArt Sample
Forgot to mention the material. Believe it or not, it is finger jointed pine from scraps that were left over from a trim finish job from the summer. Finish is Minwax clear satin polyurathane finish left over from my hardwood floors from two years ago. Love turning scraps into potential money..... ju...

VectorArt Sample
Nothing spectacular but choosing projects to have learning goals to increase my skill level. Opened the free sample from VectorArt into Cut 3D and sized it. Saved it, then imported it into VCarve Pro and added the engraved text and generated the needed tap files (4 total). Shipped them off to the sh...

Novel discovery for jogging
Now I'm sure most all of you probably know this already and I almost feel foolish mentioning it, but I discovered something that makes things easier for me. The numeric keypad with it's arrows, pg up and pg dn, provide jog controls for the Shark when in jog mode. I am using a small Acer Netbook with...

Re: Sketch Chair- Custom Furniture
Interesting design... wonder what that does to your posterior after you have been sitting in it at the computer for 3 or 4 hours? LOL Looks like a couple of the pieces are much larger than the workspace on the machine. How did you manage that? I still haven't tried anything that requires moving and ...

Re: Vectric 24 Days of Christmas Clip Art
Is it possible to get some that were missed or "share" them? Try as I have, I have missed a couple and don't know how I did it. For a while you could still get the previous days but they stopped it to where you could only get it on the day of.

Re: Simple Plaque Using Sketchup Model
Looks simple unless you have an idea of whats going on (program wise) Great project! Very nicely done. Am I understanding correctly that this is kind of an alternate method to having Aspire for creating some simple 3D custom images? I've downloaded both Google Sketchup and the plugin. Yikes, another...
