Re: Setting/Saving permanent home x,y?
I use all kinds of jigs. I secure the jig and it has a xy point on it. It's designed to be parallel with the gantry but other than that it can go anywhere on the table. I use the corner sometimes and the center sometimes depending on the jig. I really like using the center point most of the time as ...

Re: Shark HD 5 pendant frozen
I had trouble with it when I vac over it with my shop vac. It didn't like the static discharge. So I don't vac over it anymore and it works great now.

Re: 7 watt laser tool path set up
The speed option on the pendant screen has been the best option I have found for clean text. I just make a few passes on a piece of scrap that is similar to my work piece and vary the speed bar. The slower it moves the longer it burns. Works great and is fast too.

Re: Cleaning and greasing
There is a couple of videos on lube and cleaning on youtube that are pretty helpful. I removed my underneath sides that had the slot in them for the x,y axis to slide through. It makes cleaning a lot easier. They are easy enough to remove and put back on. I just left them off.

Re: new pirahna and cant load usb tap files
I found out today if I had too many files on my thumb drives behind a folder it would only read so many. So I moved them up to the root directory and it found the files it couldn't find. My pc showed they were there on 3 different thumb drives. Yet each thumb drive wouldn't show the new directory wh...

Re: No Power to Control Box
Well I blew my second fuse that the Router power cord plugs into. The fuse is in the slot that you plug the cord in that is in the back of the Shark CNC control Box. After going to 2 retail and 5 wholesale electric supplies I found 4 fuses. I only blow the fuse if I over load the router. One time it...

Re: Work Bench/Table for Shark HD4 Extended Bed
After about 3 months and 80 projects on my Shark 510HD here is a video on my setup and some things I learned these past 3 months. Lots more to learn but it keeps me busy most every day. I purchased a Grizzly Shop Fox table with a Maple top and customized it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqaWd9kfw...

Re: Struggling with dust collection setup
A sprinkler system over the top of it would put most any fire out. Best defense is to not leave it unattended for very long. The blue foam box takes a pretty good flame to get it to ignite. A dust collector would most likely take the fire and move it through the dust collection system. Best defense ...

Re: Struggling with dust collection setup
I just bought a Shark about 3 weeks ago. After about 15 projects My shop is getting covered by fine dust and I am using the factory dust collection shoe. Yesterday I started to build a enclosure for it. Using 1" thick Blue foam board as the box. It will fit over the top of the shark it only weighs a...
