I'm sure there are a few parts that I haven't seen, but that doesn't look like anything that I know of. Might have just gotten into the box by mistake rather than falling off the machine although I would have been suspicious also.

Re: File Extensions???
Are you wanting some kind of 3d carving of some kind or are you just wanting the text of the hymns engraved in wood or another material. What I think of when I hear you talk about it is that it would be the text of the song carved in wood with an appropriately selected type style (font) to make it l...

Re: litho light blinking
Its possible it could be one of a couple of things. On the power supply that you used you may be getting close to the maximum current limit. Some power supplies have a "current foldback" type limiting circuit that will cut the voltage back to keep from going over the current limit. Some will even cu...

Re: Battery UPS/Surge sizing
I think generally speaking most people refer to UPS units as a "battery backup" simply because it contains batteries that are used to generate the power when the line goes out. On my camera surveillance system I have a true "battery backup" in that it is putting out the same regulated DC voltage whe...

Re: star wars edge lit acrylic
Hi Tony,
That turned out nicely. I hate to question your process but since I'm not doing acrylics yet I am still trying to learn. You stated .002 deep with the ball nose bit. Was that a typo? Seems like .002" didn't sound right for something like that.

Re: LEDs and Corian
If I am correct, the 3528 is on the lower level of light output but are an excellent choice for lithophanes. The 5050 are a good deal brighter and I think is what I used in my first litho box but the ones I got were actually divided into three "white" leds in one unit instead of a red, green and blu...

Re: Apps, Pi, and remote desktop.
I really don't have any ideas of trying to control or remotely automate my shark but I did want to be able to look in on it and make sure it hadn't gone crazy or to look at the progress. I put a network camera on mine to do this. Here is the thread that I started some time back on it. http://www.cnc...

Re: PC
I think the main thing you want to look for is that it has USB2 capability or better. Other than that I have used a XP running on an Acer Aspire Netbook and it worked find. I don't think the computing capability is all that critical but the speed of the USB port that it is connected to is.

Re: Taptastic organization
Hi Jim, Personally I am more attentive to what I name the .crv files than the tap files. I try to categorize the names so that they will stay together, like plaque ~ xxxxx or headstone ~ xxxxxx then I can at least get to the same kind of design and look through the files to see. I do have a lot of t...

Re: Your Opinion
I would highly recommend that you get the upgrade from VCarve Desktop to the VCarve Pro. I don't know all of the missing items in the Desktop version but I am going to say it is significant. I just figured it the HD3 would come with the Pro version.
