Re: Another Wedding Plaque
I haven't been brave enough to try an edge profile as yet, I like your clamp rebate, hadn't thought of that.. I've already driven an $80 2 day old solid carbide bit straight into one of the alloy clamps and shattered it..was thinking far too much about how to bitch slap my 14 yr old stepdaughter acr...

Re: Cutting cast acrylic
To actually cut, I use a 1/8 solid carbide spiral plastic cut bit... Part No. TSPR 04 S at http://www.carbitool.com.au , it will give you the idea. For carving, a 2 or 3 flute 60 degree bit, 22 degree for very fine work, but it's a real bitch to not loose the point.. Remember, Acrylic needs very sha...

Re: Vacuum Clamp
Basecircle, Force = Preasure x Area, so for a sign blank, depending on porosity, you wouldn't need the same vacuum as Michael would need to hold his little bridges. (They are nice :) ) As I work in Newtons & Kpa, I'll leave it at that ;) There is also vacuum clamps used in the furniture industry tha...

Re: Vacuum Clamp
Beautiful work.
Do you use much air with the venturi ? The Festo VAD's that I have worked with needed a great deal..although your setup looks very efficient.

Dimar Blades & Holders
[attachment=0]Dimar_Holder_Blades.jpgGood afternoon For those who haven't stumbled across this type of option for routing bits, I have attached a pic of a holder and 2 blades that I just picked up from http://www.dimar.com.au The blades are 60 degree and 30 degree for use in acrylic. (Can be used in...
