Re: Fuses blowing in Control Box

Have you tried not running the router thru the control box? What size fuse is in it and slow blow or standard. I know there were others on here with that issue. What bit and how hard are you pushing the program? (loading the router will pull more current) maybe a search under fuse will bring up the ...

Re: problem with Z motor

You can always swap the 9pin at the controller for a different axis and see if it jobs ok then.
That will eliminate the controller.
All three motors are the same.

Re: Stepper Motors ?

Is shipping to OZ that crazy? I have a stepson stationed in Hawaii and I found out that it's $250.00 to ship a 70lbs package was normal. "somehow" the package made it on a ship headed to him. Here in California if I use the USPS and the "if it fits it ships" I can send him a lot for $10.00. There is...

Re: Stepper Motors ?

Be carefull if you are thinking of changing stepper motors, I'm not real sure how NWA does it but you need a "load resistor" in the circuit to match the MAX current draw or you will blow the driver chip. There are plenty of notes on the web that will guide you thru it but I'm guessing NWA is not goi...

Re: Anyone use a drag knife with their Shark?

I use the cutting mat as the backup so I haven't had to change it yet and I cut out a LOT of decals for our work trucks. The thing I like about WidgetWorks is the spring loading on both the knife and diamond drag. You can "dial" it in to the material you are using. Sandblast mask is thicker than the...

I used my shark HD for the iPhone but I do have more than one CNC, its like a virus once you get one. The lawn mower is next then the tractor.

Re: Anyone use a drag knife with their Shark?

OK, all my "toys" came from www.widgetworksunlimited.com Not the cheapest by a long shot but great support, online guide and links to supplies.
Just google drag knife if you're looking for low $$. 99% of them use Roland knives so you can buy replacement knives where you buy vinyl.

Re: Anyone use a drag knife with their Shark?

I'll look up where I bought mine and let you know. I make decals and sandblast stencils with it. Buy a cutting mat (ask your wife or go to a sewing store) and using spray tack glue then put the cutting mat down on a piec of MDF. I use tack glue and tape to hold down the vinyl. You will need a transf...

Re: Dust Shoe

I've been using the KentCNC dust shoe on my HD for over a year. It's a 4" hose and it gets over 95% of the dust I create. That's a 70% better than my table saw does with an overhead arm and a lower dust port. The water cooled spindle has no air out the bottom to blow the dust away so the shoe gets 9...
