Re: Losing communication on Z (please help)

Also guard against running the vacuum hose over the pendent. The static electricity can blow your controler card and also make the pendant go blank. Once I started making sure I didn't get the vac hose next to the pendant no problems. Shark is a great machine. Over 300 projects with it and the few i...

Re: TouchPad quit in middle of the job

I found the pendant to be very sensitive to vacuum created static electricity. Keep that vacuum hose away from the controller and most of those issues will not be a problem.

Re: Control Box Failure

I added a relay to control the router from this low amp receptacle. I blew about 3 fuses over 2 years. I then added this router relay and no longer have to replace fuses.

Re: Spoil Board

After 3 years and 250 projects on my HD510 it was time to level the spoil board. I used nylon 1" 1/4x20 round head nuts and bolts 9 of them. I am currently posting a video on youtube should be there in a day or two of my process of replacing the old one. 1. Keep the spoil board 1" undersize of your ...

I have been etching ceramic tiles with the Shark 2.4 watt laser using white paint. Any one else doing this?

Re: 110 Spoil board

I found that brass screw hold downs for testing and steel screws are my best hold down. Low profile and I just screw them into my spoil board (3/4" mdf using nylon bolts into the shark table top) on top of that I put another 3/4" mdf board as my first spoil board. After machining that flat after a y...

Re: Wood Clamps. My Design.

After several broken bits and clamps and bolts that been hit on return to home position, I changed my methods. I put down a mdf 3/4" thick that is at the border but inside the max xy span with nylon bolts recessed and nuts on the Shark Table. Then I glued on a 3/4" piece that is about the same size....

Re: Free crv files

I have noticed there are not very many files available for Vectric Vcarve CRV files. I have found a few on Estey but that is about it. Vectric has some on their site but not very many. Is there a reason why we don't have a place for these to be uploaded providing they are not copyright violations in...

Re: My Home location Keeps changing Shark 520 with V-Carve

Yup. If you go past your machine limits you almost always have to rezero your machine. I use a lot of jigs and mark those jigs where zero is so it matters not where I put it on the table and quite often the center of the workpiece if the stock is square. this way I can always set zero from those no ...

Re: Spindle startup delay?

I upgraded Vetric to 11 and noticed my router was delayed 8 seconds before it started moving to the cut. After a few months I got tired of this delay. The post processor for the Shark HD510 has several processor files listed. They all work just fine but the delay is no longer a problem when I switch...
