Re: laser attachment for shark machines.

Yeah Rod, That is the problem and from what I am hearing most of the control is either on or off. Maybe be able to set the intensity with the spindle speed but once it is set that's the only setting and it is on the whole time. I really haven't pursued it because I have to much to do and don't have ...

Re: lithophane

Just curious, have they given you an image to work with yet? And if so have you run it through and worked calculated the carving time? I don't have much of a feel for square inches to hours but I am going to guess about 24 hours to carve a litho that size. Hope you have a UPS backup power case the p...

Re: Error

I think in the end it was probably just a matter of doing thing in the order prescribed or going back and reinstalling you controller software. I know I used XP and then later jumped to a computer that ran Windows 8 and didn't have any problems. I am sure windows 7 is doable but seems like there was...

Re: laser attachment for shark machines.

Personally I haven't follow some of the newer releases, but if they are anything like they have been in the past, I wouldn't believe what they estimate there release date to be till I hear of people ordering them and actually receiving them. Not to bad mouth NWA but they are known for selling an ide...

Re: lithophane

I would search some of the eBay listings for 1/4" corian and send them a question. I am going to say that most any of them will cut and sell you any size that you want. That is a rather large size and I don't think anyone uses anything that big as a general rule (a whopping time to cut a litho that ...

Re: Wedding gift box

Excellent as I would expect. As far as the mistake, all of us do it, but its the end result that people see. That can be viewed as just one of those integral design techniques that add to the project more than it takes away. Even the stain issue might have looked nice to have an unstained portion if...

Re: zero out spoil board

Ok, that makes the question a little more clear. You can call anything Z-zero that you want, you just have to follow through the whole project with the same zero point. In the Job Setup, I use the top of the material as my Z-zero and when I set up my material it knows that the top of the material is...

Re: .rar.file to .stl file

.rar is a compressed file and needs to be "un-compressed" with a RAR program. Google it and run it and you will have one or more files that one of them will more than likely be the .stl file you thought you were getting. I think the program that I use for this is UNZIPRAR.

Re: zero out spoil board

I'm going to take a stab at answering this as best I understand the question. You spoil board I assume is on the table and your work piece on top of that. You, in effect, zero out the spoil board by jogging (and single stepping) the cutting bit to the surface of the board at the reference point that...

Re: Drinkin beer, thinking of Xmas cookies.....LOL had to t

Are you able to share the VCarve file for doing this. I have cut several American Legion signs and desk nameplates but never took the time to do the reverse image and adjust it for the depths to make a good imprint on the cookies. Also how about the recipe for the cookie dough. Not all cookie doughs...
