Crib Board Question

Post by RobertD »

Hi Everyone

Relatively new to CNC, and trying to figure something out. I put together a Crib Board from DXF files posted by "tatinc2000". The files are great however I've hit a problem. While drilling the holes with .1250 "Drill Mill" I'm experiencing break through between some of the peg holes. The bit is new and, the wood is hard maple and very dry. I was thinking to put more space between the holes (possibly .0156) and see if this cures the problem. Being new, I'm not sure how to move all the holes at once and doing them one block at a time is a long process. Any suggestions or comments.

Tatinc2000 could I pm you and ask some questions as well??

Robert,
it looks like your spacing is fine. I looked up the drill mill bit; if it is pointed it may be slipping at the start. Try using a .125 up spiral end mill. This is what I use and have no trouble in maple when making my cribbage boards.

good luck,
Postal
