3D carving

I was wanting to know if there is a way to set the way a 3d file cuts. It wants to cut the length and width of the part even if the 3d pattern is only half the length of the work piece. this makes it hard to hold the part with out cutting into the clamps. Made my first boobo trying to cut my 3d design and cut into clamp befor hitting e-stop.

You can draw a closed vector around the 3D portion. Select that vector then create your rough and finish tool paths. They will be restricted to inside that selected vector.
