Ratio of worm gear

Post by DougE »

What is the gear ratio on the Shark Pro Plus worm gear ?

I'm trying to figure out the ratio needed to drive a 4th axis via stepper/servo motor.

You input is greatly appreciated.

Does anyone have the specs on the stepper motors ?

What is the stepping pulse rate ? (360 degrees = 600 pulses ?)
What is the nominal voltage input 12-24 volts ?
Are they 2 phase 2 amp ?

That depends on the Pro Plus you have. We used two version one was a 4 turns per inch the other was 2 turns per inch. (turn shaft and see how much it moves)
there is 200 steps per rotation motor or 1.8 deg
now these are stepper motors an have 3V across the phase. This is not like a DC motor you can plug in and yes the are a bit more than 2 amps.

Thanks

Tim
