Problem with 3D milling

Hi!

I am working with 3D stuff and have had the strangest issue.

Attached is a photo of a recent project, if you look at the center, there is a triangle on the face of the ship and a line that runs on each side of the work. This does not appear when i preview the file. I am using a 1/8" ball nose set to 50%.

I am not as familiar with Aspire as I would like, but am having fun learning. Any ideas?

Is it possible that your safe Z height is set too low? Looks like the line happens as the bit is moving to a different area of the carving. Others will have better ideas.

1/8" ball nose I have a stepover at 10% all my ballnose bits are set at between 8- 10 %, but it will carve a longer time. Can u post the aspire file if possible? You might be hitting the upper limit of your z which will lose steps and that is what u r seeing.

Your z setting is too high that is why your losing steps, set it at 1

I changed the Z setting and area machine strategy to raster and wallah!

Still a faint trace of that strange "line" but looks great!

Thanks for the help tony!
