V Carve Depth Problem

Post by wwoodworks »

I am using Aspire 4.5 and trying to V-Carve a project.
Material thickness is .75" and when I try to create a V-Carve toolpath I get a message that says
"cutting tool will exceed material thickness" material = .75 cutting depth = 3.885.
Anybody know what to do?

I have done V carves b4 this and all was fine.

Set flat bottom depth to where you want it. Use an end mill to rough it

VCarve uses a depth that is dependent in the distance between the two lines. The wider, the deeper. When you are selecting the type of tool path you are running on the right side if the screen at the top you can set the height above the material and the maximum depth below it. Just choose that and set it whee you want it. The bottom will be flat but the sides of the cut will be angled. It will only go to that depth if the tool fits in the space otherwise it will just be a normal v bit cut
