Well I asked but didn't get an answer on that part of the question. I don't want to bother the main man too much -
I might actually need help someday soon. I'll know soon enough when rockler starts to get them. cheers!

The controller does have the interface for a number of upgrades and expansion ports. However the first launch of the 4th axis is the Shark then the Piranha next.

Thanks Tim! That's great news for the Piranah. I thought I was going to have to work really hard to convince my wife that I wanted the bigger toy after I convinced herthat the Piranha was the last toy I'd need.

I love the look of the power spindle head but have a concern over the max diameter size of the wood that can be worked wth it bolted to the table on a SharkPro HD.

How large of a piece are you trying to do?

Tim,

I have both the Carvewright model C and the Shark HD Pro and the new Rotary Jig from LHR handles 1" - 4.25" diameter stock and 5.5" to 13" in length. it's tough to scale against what's in the photo you posted, but it looks like the spiral in the jig is about 1.25" in diameter and there isn't much clearance to the table top.

But thats why I'm asking, the information isn't available yet from either Rocker or the Next Wave site I can access from work. :)

It has a standard nova chuck attached and I don't have is specifics with me. However the ends of the Spindle is 2 inches dia and about 18 inches long.

When do you expect to have the 4th axis for sale on your site on Rockler?

I'm wondering if it would be possible to put a spacer under both ends of the 4th axis in order to get a bit fore clearance for a larger workpiece? Or would that interfere with the gantry and router mount? Just wondering.
