Just came back from a CNC retreat in Monument CO. Thank you Doug Pinney for hosting in his 4,000 plus SQft shop.

Topics covered for xyz 3 access and 4th access turning.
Software of choice was vcarve/aspire, bits and lots of demo setting up files and cutting.

With that I have shark 60th and do not have 4th access yet.

For those that have the NWA 4th access, I would like to hear your thoughts on how well it works.
Pros / Cons etc.

Looks like 800 for part and about 80ish for controller upgrade. Is that correct?

What's max length is came hold?
Stock width?

Easy setup, or complicated?
Looks like idea is to clamp in t-track, is that correct?

Any help / suggestions anybody has from the 4th axis from NWA/Rockler.

It works ok. My only complaint was the use of a dead center on the tailstock end rather than a live center.
It's 1/2" center bore so you can't just pop a 1MT into the same hole. I've only done some small items on it.
Large work would be done at a diagonal so I don't know how stable it is on a long piece.

I am interested in the 4th axis....any information from anyone operating one, would be appreciated.

I too am interested in projects being posting. And testimonies telling all.
It is for sale, but, until I see numerous showings of work performed.
I won't dive into that murky water head first.

I have been using the 4th axis for over 2 years. I have put up projects on this site and help setup videos on you tube. I believe it is a worthwhile investment it will broaden your woodworking abilities. There is a learning curve involved. But there is help out there. To take full advantage you need Aspire. I will work with Vcarve but Aspire has more tools. Hope this helps. If you need more just howler.
