Thanks Bill.

Bob, I'll get some pictures together and post the process this weekend. Thanks for the interest.

Here's a shot of the box joint. Comes off the shark pretty much perfect. This is with no sanding or glue. Same fixture as described for the dovetail joint.

Bill,
That is one nifty box joint!
Looks like it's time for me to try something like this.
Thanks for posting

Thank you.
That is one detailed explanation!
Head spinning is still manageable.
Router-caused head spinning is controlled by using a lower speed setting :)

LOL I agree with you Bob and Bill that was an excellent tutorial.

Finally got a chance to cut the full through dovetails on a project. We usually post our pictures of finished projects, but I thought I would show this one as it develops. This is a large box for me, about 16"x10"x 10 inches high, loosely based on the golden ratio. Four dovetails per corner.

This picture is the dry fit right off the machine, no sanding or glue yet, a nice fit with a .005" loose offset just on the pins. Be sure to adjust your cut depths to your stock thickness.

Here's a preview of my Aspire created model for the front panel. More pics as I get time, really happy with the dovetails though.

Design is a process, so I can change my mind. Decided I like this font much better, so I'm going to go with this.

Also I am working on this design for the box hinges. Took one of the Eagle's wings and "Aspired" it a little. It will require a little work, but I think it will be worth it.

Thanks Basecircle.

"When the Eagle flys with the Dove" remember that song? How about an Eagle flying with some dovetails?

Next, onto those hinges.
