Mostly this is for us hobby sort of guys that bought the Shark to make stuff for your families and friends but is for anyone.

Yes, the CNC Shark is a tool that lets us make so many incredible things.

However, what I want to know is, what you are doing to or for your shark to make it even better & easier to use or just look better when we show it off.

Come on now, I figure there are more than a dozen out there that like to show off the tool that makes the stuff you think of.

It would be nice to see what you did and why.

I have been reading this forum for a short while but missed the shark tank articles.

It didn’t take long for me to figure that keeping the shark is a necessity and with an enclosure to keep the sound down, it quickly becomes a challenge.
Without seeing these great ideas, this is what I came up with. Horizontally split doors on all 4 sides connected with piano hinges.

Also, due to being around for several years, I find that I NEED more light than I use to so I added strip LEDs to the roof of the tank.

I purchased my shark from a Craig’s List posting and it came with a wireless Wi-Fi camera, which I kept to photograph some of my creations.

I have electrical outlets on the outside so I can connect additional device should I need them, like my Vacuum. It is turned on via a relay that is connected to the router circuit in the controller.

The 4th axis is something that I have been thinking about for sure. Right now, 3 axis are challenging enough. I need to have some in-depth discussions on how I use the software with Kurt’s rig to make round stuff.

Not near as exciting as a 4th axis is the clamp that I made using a logarithmic spiral like a nautilus shell. I use this clamp to hold the sides of my cut boards and since most of what I cut is ¾ of an inch. This will hold nicely and not get in the way of the dust boot like the standard top down clamps do.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but if everything is set right there should be no need to hold the cut board down, just keep it from moving up, down, left or right.
These are cheap to cut and work for most cases.

If you use a spiral up cut bit they will want to lift the board up, especially in hardwood. Some times people will complain that the router dove into the wood, what happened more often than not is an up cut bit pulled itself into the wood. So in that case a side load clamp will not suffice. This is based on my own experience.

Thanks BillK. Good to know. Happens that I do have a spiral up cut but have not used it yet.

Maybe I should build a lip around this clamp to hold down as well as a side load.

Shouldn't require much of a lip should it?
