This feather board was machined from 3/8" thick plastic. (cutting board) If a thicker board is needed, make two and stack them.

Now I'll try squeezing even bigger files!

Thanks for posting this vcarve file. I had some scap pvc board that I was making vacuum clamps out of and I have 2 boards rev 1 and rev 2 that would make great feather boards.

Thanks for sharing the file.

Mark,
I'm not sure if pvc would be strong enough for this project. It seems to be lightweight. Just be careful when trying the feather boards. The cutting board that I used was made from a tougher plastic. Probably HDPE.

Thanks for the heads up. I saw another feather board made out of the same stuff I had. I cut out two of your design and will see how they work on the saws. They seem to be pretty springy even when pushed down tight against the boards. Time always tells the end story.

I had 2 boards that I had used to make a vacuum pod setup and in the process of that did 3 revisions.. first one worked but I was tweaking. So these were carved up and I threw them in the trash and then saw a video on pvc feather boards and I thought that might be fun to use those. So once again pulled something out of the trash to repurpose. CNCing is fun.

I appreciate you sharing the VCarve file. I happened to have some scrap PVC board that I was initially using for crafting vacuum clamps. After reviewing the file, it occurred to me that I have two boards, revision 1 and revision 2, which would be perfect for repurposing into excellent feather boards. The alignment seems ideal, and I'm looking forward to putting these materials to good use. Thanks again for the valuable resource!

I used this pvc feather board this last week. I had my main one already in use and needed one of these pvc to help making some oak molding. It's still going strong. Thanks.
