I'm sure it's something simple, BUT:
- everything is connected correctly and the key is on
- running the test from the pendant results in 3 flashes
- I've double checked the toolpath specs and have set everything per the instructions
- the spindle speed is set at 1000
When I run it, it moves as though it is executing the toolpath and makes noises of varying pitch like it's trying to do something, but the laser never comes on.
HELP!
TIA,
Richard

Are you using a post processor file that supports the laser? Go to 'https://nextwaveautomation.zendesk.com/ ... processors' to find one for your machine, I use the 'Next Wave-Laser_inch' one.
Re: New 7 watt laser not working
I totally missed that. Thanks VERY much, it's up & running now!
I dialed back the speed to burn the wood less, but it still creates smoke. I worry about setting off a smoke alarm. Any tips?
Thanks again!!

Re: New 7 watt laser not working
My 3 watt laser does ok with the garage door open. If I had much more smoke I would vent it outside. I recommend that you Download the test file for the laser and see what all the settings will do on varying materials you will use the laser on. I used mine today to mark "Crimping Tools" on a 6 sided custom sized box jointed box today.
Great tools and a whole lot of fun.

Check the setting for the laser's power, the air aid, and the blower for the exhaust.
Check to see if they are all on and working right.

Re: New 7 watt laser not working
Gotcha's. It's in my basement in what was formerly a darkroom. No ventilation. I am running a shop vac with the dust collector brush, and that seems to help some. Perhaps a Heppa (Hippa?) filter somewhere along that hose world do a better job getting our the smoke particulates. Anybody have thoughts on that?
Thanks again folks!

Re: New 7 watt laser not working
I added a 20 watt laser and made dust collector sliding gate that vents the dust collector either exhaust outside or inside if it's really cold outside. Works great. Here is a video on it.
