Loose Spring

I am new to posting, but have enjoyed reading the fourm.

I bought a CNC Shark a couple days ago. When unpacking the base, I found a loose spring in the box. Is this anything to be concerned about?

Would you describe, or post a picture of the spring?

I haven't seen anything like it in the basic Shark.
How's your machine running?
I guess you could send the picture to Next Wave...

Thanks Bob. I am still in the process of setting up the system, but what I can tell so far it seems to be working as designed. I took your advice and contacted Next Wave. Hopefully I hear something back next week.

I'm sure there are a few parts that I haven't seen, but that doesn't look like anything that I know of. Might have just gotten into the box by mistake rather than falling off the machine although I would have been suspicious also.

After corresponding with Next Wave's tech support it was determined that the spring in question is for the Y axis T-Nut, which is located under the table assembly. We were able to determine that the spring was in place according to this picture:

The extra spring must have fallen into the box during the packing process.

Thanks for all the replies.

Tried to send a reply to your PM. Never could get it to send. Here is my reply. Call me if you have questions I can help with. Still learning myself.

No sir. It has been ongoing since I got my shark. Sometimes it does fine, others I have to unplug, turn the controller off, and go through the process multiple times. I recently had a situation where the controller would not power up. I talked to the Next Wave technician who talked me through some diagnostics. None of them helped and I had to send the controller back for repairs. I told him about the ongoing problem and he said it could be in the controller. I ordered a new controller in order to get some customer orders completed, and to have a spare. It does the same thing. I will say that the folks at Next Wave are great with customer service. They were responsive to my questions, and fast. They got my controller, and repaired it(replaced control board), and shipped it out all on the same day. Shipped from South Carolina on Friday, they got it Tuesday, I got it back on Thursday. Wish I could give you a better answer. I have a friend that has the same difficulty. I may write them another email. If I get more information I will relay it to you.

Merry Christmas.
Barry
