Using OGEE or Roundover type bits for outer perimeter

Post by kjackswood »

I have a question if anyone can recommend which tooling path option to use for using roundover, OGEE or other outer perimeter type bits for finishing touches to outside edges.
As well as what type of tooling path do you create, do you draw a box around the perimeter of the piece and have it trace that or is there some other option.

Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
This is for a Shark PRO PLUS using V-Carve 6.0

Thanks

I use an ogee bit to round over the edges of a project.
Just use the create profile toolpath option and be sure to select only the portion you want to round over. I do the roundover before the cutout on thicker work.

Your depth setting will control the amount of round over wanted.
Alternatively: I have simply used my handheld router with a roundover bit to complete projects.
