Re: Auto-on/off dust collection

The iVac solution works great. I have a set up with my Shark, table saw and plane set up with each one being able to turn on the vacuum. In my case I also have the automated valves for each of them. Only the valve on the device being used opens. One note of caution relative to the size of your vacuu...

Re: How to measure if the router is square to the table

Db, A good first step is to use a large square (12 by 18 inch) and verify that the Z-axis carriage assembly is orthogonal to the bed. On my shark I had about a 3 degree error on this. The result was that from top to bottom of the Z-axis carriage I had over an eighth of an inch error (in fact almost ...

adjusting x and y alignment

Tram T.crv3d I thought I had done a good job aligning my machine. The Z-axis Rods and router axis were well aligned. When I made a T - pattern similar to that in the attached file the surface is smooth and flat. I just installed the aluminum backplate and only had to do minor tweaks to the adjustme...

Re: routers

Just a note but it appears that Precise Bits has stopped providing the precision collets for the Porter Cable routers. More info available on their web site as to why.

Screen protector

My grandkids have pushed the screen out of the door at our vacation home multiple times. Finally decided to make something to solve the problem. Took a 3/8 sheet of cherry and did a double sided Celtic weave on each end. Then added embossed pattern of a bear in a tree in the center. Did my first gla...

Re: Post processor ?

The major difference between the two post processors is the tolerance or accuracy. The 3D is used mainly for 3D carving. I use my shark for furniture and found that it did not have the needed accuracy for me. The other post processor has improved accuracy and more suitable for V-carving. If needed y...

Re: G-Code not Matching Part Coordinates

Joseph, Why would the G- code window in th3 control panel and the position display in the control panel show different values!!!! That is what I am seeing and the original poster on this topic. I agree with the statement that the zero will change and the part will be ruined but when that happens the...

Re: G-Code not Matching Part Coordinates

I find it hard to understand how this is a hardware issue. If I run into a hard limit I will lose step but the software output should still match the G-code. There are no sensors that tell what position the bit is at. It is only software that goes G-Code to steps to position in the display window. I...
