X axis slop
I am getting about .020 slop in the carriage on the x axis. It is not from loose connector at the motor or loose screws. How does one adjust the drive nut system to take this slop out?

Re: painting drag lines in granite
On corian after cutting the project I paint letting the paint get on the top surface also then when good and dry I sand with 120 grit sandpaper. Then blow off with compressed air. This leaves very nice edges on the engravings. I do the same with wood projects also.
Re: HELP
Did you download the post processors from nextwave and insert them as directed so you can get them in v-carve?

Re: Chinese endmills?
The two links are different types of end mills. Ball nose are better for 3d carving and drilling and with the proper feeds and speeds should last well over 2 hours of carving time.

Re: Chinese endmills?
I have been using them for years drilling holes in crib board for about 4 years with no problems. I have made hundreds of crib boards with over 500 holes in each of them and they do not wander when hitting the various grains in a price of wood.

Re: Bit milage
I use a 1/8 carbide ball nose end mill for all my crib board holes. I find a drill bit is not stiff enough and will wander when it hits different grains in the wood. I make about 200 boards a year and get about 100 boards with 1 end mill before it needs replacing. You can get them on e-bay from Chin...

The z position has nothing to do with what you cut being offset. The z is up and down, for depth. Souns to me like you ate trying to cut past the machine limits. Pete
Re: PRICING
I charge $35 for signs 12 x 16 and under. My material costs are $2 for the ash, $1 for the clear coat, $1 for the craft paint and $6 for end mills, sandpaper, a hanger, hydro and other supplies. This leaves me $25 per sign profit. While the machine is cutting I do my design work for other jobs, mill...

Get the variable speed model. Different diameter and flute combinations require different speeds. Pete
