Re: problem with spoil board?

Is the base supported entirely, or just at the corners. The weight of the gantry will cause the table to warp down if, the whole length of the Y Axis Guides are not supported below.

Re: Backlash and Maintenance

Consider giving every nut and bolt a little time with the wrench. Tighten them all. Also, pay particular attention to the Y Axis block that is in the middle of the machine.

Re: Spindle question?

If a water cooled spindle, there is no fan to blow all that fine dust all over. And I mean, all, over. They are smoother than a router. And, depending on the source of power, do not slow down in a difficult cut. Oh. Typically they also last longer.

Re: New Touch plate cable

Find a Radio Shack or Best Buy Nerd Squad. This is an easy fix. All you are doing is completing the circuit. Like a light switch performs. One of those fellows can help you. Also, Batteries Plus has some nerds that can do it as well.

Re: Squaring the router with the sacrifice board

If you have an 1/8" Collette, you can take wire that size, make it like an "L". About 2-3" on the vertical and 1 1/2 - 2" on the horizontal. Bend it to 90 degrees. Then, relax it a bit to 92 degrees. Or so. Lock it in the Collette and move it to the center of you bed. Bring this down on the Z Axis t...

Re: Z AXIS DEPTH VARIATION

If, your router cord is running alongside the servo cords, that can cause some strange problems. Minimize that by running servos on one side of the gantry, router on the other.

Re: CNC Machines in General

Just as a matter of curiosity, are there any other makes of 'affordable home shop' type CNC machines. Are there any others that build machines in the general area of the Shark? Rockler also sells a brand called Axiom. They sell a smaller unit for $2000. Steel frame. Far better ball screws and motor...

Re: Machine losing its place in all three axes

Check to see if the cord for the Router is run alongside those for the Servos. If so, run the cord for the Router on the opposite side, far way, from the servo wires. See if that helps.

Think on a price at 65 cents on the dollar.
