Re: New HD enclosure

SharkCutup, Yes I used the towel to cover the keyboard on the laptop I use to control the CNC. I never cover the control box while it's running. The 4th axis the way I have it setup can turn~4" some people put it up on blocks and can turn 5-6". I mounted miner on a board with a t-track to keep the h...

Re: New HD enclosure

SharkCutup, Thanks, for the reply. I had bought the dust boot from NW and it was cumbersome to use, plus it obstructs your view of the bit and any problems that might go wrong while carving. I have a nice Delta 1.5hp 4" dust collector on my table saw that is now hooked to a port on bottom backside o...

Re: New HD enclosure

Bill, Could not justify the price for a small box with one door. So I built one over the Christmas break form work. It's wider, longer and taller, with doors on all four sides. I added light 4" vacuum attachment. With the doors on all four side I can reach any area of the machine. With no reply's I ...

Re: New HD enclosure

Bill, Thanks for the reply. I like your design it's well thought out. I also would like to have access to all sides, which would help setting up my 4th axis or clamping large pieces. I might order all the hardware and build one to my needs that is wider, longer and higher with 4 doors also. I want t...

New HD enclosure

Has anyone purchased the the CNC HD enclosure that Next Wave is now selling? It seems pricey a $699.99! With only one access door on the front it would be difficult to get to the back end of the machine to clamp, clean, etc.. I priced some the hardware on line to build one and it starts to add up fa...

Re: Not to proud to ask for help

Well I finally heard from NextWave. I called them and talked to a tech, who told me he would send some test files for me to run and he would send it out within the hour. 6 hours later I called back and left a voice mail, no returned call. Called the next day and left another voice mail, no returned ...

Re: Not to proud to ask for help

Ok, well my neighbor came by today and he made a new rounding tool path everything from scratch same errors. We think the controller board that I bought with the 4th axis is bad! That is the only thing we have NO control over. I can cut 2D or 3D with out the 4axis set and everything works fine. I do...

Re: Not to proud to ask for help

Rick, Not sure what your asking but I'll give it a try. The one spindle (peg shape) that I made the head stock side measured 1.155" the tail stock side measured 1.246". As the router tracks along the X axis I can watch the Z axis ramp upward but the g-code Z height is a constant number that does not...

Re: Not to proud to ask for help

Rick, Not sure what you mean about spindle taper? I upgraded the gantry to the solid aluminum and spent a lot of time getting it straight and parallel with the table. I've taken a lot of time to make sure everything is aligned in all the axis's (with that said something could be off but I'm not seei...

Re: Not to proud to ask for help

Rick, Yes I go through the entire procedure before I load the tool path. The only thing I don't do during the set up that I used every to do was use the touch plate. I followed your lead and use a piece of paper. When I used the touch plate method I never got the same Z cords on the tail stock. With...
