3d digitizer question
I am trying to map out the base for a phonograph turntable to carve a new one. I need to go deeper than 3/4 inch below the surface. Is there a longer probe or an extender that will fit the probe unit. Or does anyone know the thread count on the probe so I search for a solution.

Just tried a new light source. I went with a LED light panel. The panel raises the electronics cost from about $20 to $35 but simplifies the wiring and removes the issue of light strips detaching and possible shadows from wires. The Star Trek inspired lithophane has the light pane

Thank you. the box and frame were the toughest part. Took a couple of attempts to get the support for the 1.25 in thick frame to stand and feel secure in the slot, yet still make it possible to disassemble if the lighting ever needs to be replaced.

Lithophane Stealth fighter
Corian for the Lithophane was carved on CNC. Frame was done in layers on Glowforge laser cutter. Light source is LED strip lights mounted on the inside edge of the frame pointed inward to avoid hot spots.

I have a smaller scale one to do. About a quarter of the size. I will give your suggestion a try.
