Re: Z zero question

Thanks guys, I did some investigating of the setting on the pendant and figured out how to change only the single axis.
I appreciate the help.

Are you using the Shark Control Panel? It's as easy as clicking "Z" in the upper-left corner.

Kayvon,
I am using the pendant for my controller.

Z zero question

How can I reset the Z zero without resetting the X and Y?
I am doing a 3D carving and I initially set the Z zero from the machine bed and don't want to remove the piece I am working on to reset the zero when I change bits.
I am using a Shark HD4 with Aspire software.

Thanks,
MD

Max feed rate

Can anyone tell me the maximum feed (moving of the gantry) rate that the Shark HD4 is capable of?

Thanks

Re: Preventing tear out

Thanks for the info fellas. I am going back and revisiting my F&S info first. Precisebits.com has some excellent tutorials that I am going through right now on it, including cutting the parallel slots like you suggested Thom. I also ordered two steel wire brushes online that I will use to 'clean up'...

Preventing tear out

I completed a project that used a 1/32" Tapered Ball Nose bit as well as a 45degree V-bit for some of the cutting. The cuts were not clean as there was significant (what I'll call tear-out for lack of a better term). The pass depth for the Ball Nose bit was .0313 inches with a spindle speed of 18000...

Re: HD4 pendant Problems

Steve,
Thanks for that info. I was hoping to have something from NWA this morning, but still nothing. I will try it out and see what happens.

Re: HD4 pendant Problems

Since I talked with tech support and they worked with me to reset the pendant, I have run 2 projects with the machine, without any problems. Now I am waiting for my dust boot to get here so I can get to work. These machines throw dust all over the shop. Tech support was very helpful with my problem...

Re: X,Y axes switch?

Gotcha, thanks for the help. It is Interesting that you bring that million and one question to lite!!! Just do a topic search x, y axis swap and see what you find! There you will also find some instructions on how to properly exchange/swap the x and y axis. Or you could look at this one http://www.c...
